  • John Rayburn Wallace, 87, went to be with his Lord on May 30, 2016. He was born to Elvin Asbury and Betty Maude (Orr) Wallace on December 8, 1928.  He attended Second Baptist Church of Malvern.  Rayburn proudly served in the United States Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he was placed on the front lines in combat.

    Rayburn is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 42 years, Charlene Wallace, a son Donald Ray Wallace, a sister, Ouida Fay McNett and three brothers, Elvin Miles, James Elden and Henry Bruce Wallace.

    Rayburn leaves behind his wife of 14 years, Juanita Vance Wallace and two sons, Jeff (Pam) Wallace and Steven (Nita) Wallace. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, several friends and many loved ones.

    Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Atkinson Chapel with Bro. William Wallace officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Dallas County. Pallbearers will be Bruce Wallace, Wayne Wallace, Clint Wallace, Brent Davis, Larry Vincent and Scooter Vance.

    U will b miss John by many but most of all my mom n grandkids tht though u hung the moon u taught thm so much thy will never forget n u loved thm as UR own thank u love n miss ya
